I've always been interested in fashion! I was often in my mother's wardrobe playing dress up from a very young age. I've always been a creative, free-spirited person, and I needed to express myself in ways I couldn't or didn't know how to at the time. Initially, I aspired to be a chef and have my own restaurant. But working and cooking for others, I discovered, was hell on wheels! That was not my wheelhouse. I had all these fantastic ideas in my brain until my mother said, "Why don't you pursue fashion design and see where it goes?" That's when I realized! That's exactly what I wanted to accomplish with the life I'd been given!!! Create clothes and accessories.

   To me, fashion is frequently inspired by a need to be different enough to stand out while still being similar enough to belong to a group that your clothing and appearance help to distinguish. Many pieces of clothing and accessories were designed for a utilitarian reason before becoming fashionable, but when they became emblematic of a specific type of lifestyle or aesthetic, certain items became expressions of meaning. Fashion displays my capacity to adapt as a human being. That is what I want my creations to stand for! I want to create an impression! Put my stamp on the planet before I depart!

   The great French philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky couldn't have said it better: “Fashion is one of the faces of modern artifice, of the effort of human beings to make themselves masters of the conditions of their own existence.”
